I suspect you'll be just fine. I was around 65 when I donated a kidney. It was a full two months before I could walk the 12 or so blocks downtown. My surgery was laparoscopic, so no big slice and dice. Just takes longer as we age. Walk as much as you can. Excellent for the core when the tummy is kept tucked in - that's the nurse talking! 👍🌼

Glad it's not just me. I'm 64 and this has been a drain. But I am getting my mojo back. Can do simple core exercises so pilates is my go to. That tummy has been my problem area though since I had babies and now with menopause that little pooch is there. But interestingly enough, my stomach was so swollen from the fibroids that it actually came down right after surgery.

The pooch is OK. Next thing on the list might be the pelvic floor. Might chat with your doc about a strengthening regimin. Sounds like you're doing well in the workout arena. Approaching 70, things knock us down a little quicker, and recovery is longer. Physical conditioning is important, especially a little with weights = bone strength.

Thanks for the recommendations. I do lift weights. Light ones. 3 pounds. Doc had mentioned kegels in the future. Gonna talk to her at my next surgery check up 😊

Pardon me for saying this, I think you need more time off. More time off provides you with what you can control.

Owning your time seems to be what you are seeking for the short term.

I think I need more time off too. I do have another 3 weeks left so it may work itself out in the long run. I do need to go back to work though. Not much of a choice.

It will work itself out in the long run.

Your energy will return. Rest. Try ( just for today) not to worry.
