Here's a link to the late, great Debbie Friedman singing Mi Shebeirach, my favorite healing blessing. I have a flat chest with wobbly bits, as Bridget Jones might say, and like you, just can't stomach the thought of another surgery. My close friend has been going through what you just described and her sharing made your story even more compelling. I'm sorry you have to experience all of this and yes, what you have written is true. I do my best to focus on our message and disregard the haters. They simply aren't entitled to even a few minutes of my precious life here on earth. If anything, they only fuel my insistence that we continue writing and grow in strength and call out what we must while also caring for ourselves through the process. I am also extremely, chronically ill and my energy is so limited it necessitates determining how best to use it. I always appreciate your support and restacks and comments and wish you only the very, very best and rapid safe healing. Shabbat Shalom!

Thank you for the link and the prayers. I hope your friend has an easy time.

I hope you feel better, too. We are all spoonies after all. It is important to make sure we use our daily spoons up for what is important. Shabbat Shalom.

I've had major surgery on my abdomen and came away from it never wanting to see a doctor again and above all, never again being touched by a doctor. I could have further surgery but will not. In any case, I understand why you initially shied away from corrective surgery.

If you send me your mother's name I will add you to my morning prayers for people with illness. "People have attitudes and poles up their butts so far they could fly themselves as flags." And: "This is what happens when you spend your life getting participation trophies." Two priceless lines. Keep on wiring and keep on trucking. All power to you for doing the surgery. Get well soon and fully.

This is such a trial for you. I’m sorry you have to go through this. I simply block people I wouldn’t want into my home. I do it right away and don’t bother engaging with them. My Substack group is supportive and brilliant. I feel somewhat honored that they allow me to hang out with them. But they write and I read. Seems to work out and I frankly except for a very few people, they are the only ones I hear from since the war started.

What was interesting, because I dont usually argue with people on substack or anywhere. The person in question was someone I followed who writes amazingly about Israel. I think part of the issue was that I was so taken aback by the attitude. Here I was trying to be supportive and got attacked for it. But I unfollowed the person and unsubscribed from their substack (not that they would care, but it does make me feel better). As far as the JStreet individual I am so tired of these stupid stupid stupid children supporting this very dangerous man-child and making excuses for it. These dopes are putting us all in danger and it makes me angry at times.

My friend also had a terrible time healing, similar story wrt infections after breast cancer reconstructive surgery - her breasts were lumpy and breasts mis-shaped - just horrible for her emotionally and physically, she was in her 40’s. She turned 50 and now is semi- considering having things corrected - for reference her surgeries were in Florida.

Best wishes to a full successful and uneventful recovery.

Bless you for not leaving Substack. You are added value to this platform. Your voice matters. Hats off and hope you heal quickly and get back to feeling like you, and just better 💕 I am so sorry you are going through this.

I am so sorry your friend is going through this. I hope she gets everything resolved soon. With all of it, I know I am going to be a much happier person now. Ah...Florida where doctors go to pretend its the middle ages. (well except for the few that are competent)

I would never leave substack. I have too much to say ! LOL.

Glad you’re healing. I hear you regarding Notes. And I don’t like Politics pushed on me by the founders of Substack.
