Glad that you are well. Hope things w/be better for your spouse and kids. Some of what you are going/have gone through I share as many, many Americans do, each of us in our little bubbles. Reading some history facts and commentary, and even some very, very old newspapers, it's hardly new to think the abyss lay ahead. Of course, it does for some, but for most of us, we must plod along as best we can. The "spunk" in your tone tells me you are strong and righteous and your words are true and strong. Best wishes and thanks for your thoughts.

Dear EKB, I am so happy for you and your cancer. Having gone through it with my wife, let's just say, I understand. As to family. As the saying goes, "you can pick your friends, not your family". Family or friend if they are not willing to have your back then who needs them, certainly not you. You are too good, too strong, and too down to earth real to have to put up with that bullshit. Be strong, and remember the golden rule, do unto others before they do unto you. Shalom Dan

I hope your wife is doing well. Cancer is a scourge and the sooner it gets eradicated the better all life on earth will be.

Thank you for having my back. You repeated exactly what I learned in therapy.

Dear EKB, I am glad you liked my comments. My purpose for communicating was to let you know that you are not alone. Also to cheer on a strong, intelligent, and funny woman. In fact I wrote a whole piece on women from my perspective. Maybe some day, when I get brave, I will put it on substack. In the meantime keep on doing. And keep the laughs coming. Shalom Dan

Your mother sounded like she was an absolute gem.

Thank you so much. Oh, my mother was a pistol! A bronx born and bred lady who went from living in a 4th floor walk up with her family to the halls of power in Washington DC with my dad. They had quite the journey.

Thank you for the blessing wish. Do you know how it was originated?

You are welcome. I don't know how it originated. I remember I found it years ago and it always stuck with me. I know it is Irish though.

Maybe there were Jewish people then who first blessed Ireland?

I don't think so. I found this and it says its actually from the Celts because of the reference to the earth

Yes, but who were the Celts, and when were they there?

I remember reading about this the other day, the Celts in both Scotland and Ireland were thought to actually be originally aryan. Don't know if its true or not. But now you have me intrigued.

Yes, because they could be from 2,000 years ago . Or they could be from way back to Solomon’s son’s time when the Northern Kingdom divided from the Southern Kingdom in Israel. And they were disbursed, and it is not clear where they went!
