Tired- Part Deux

Constant outrage is annoying, one huge turn off

Here is my political take of the moment: GET A FUCKING GRIP.

First you have Bernie and AOC going to Coachella, where most people had to put their tickets on a payment plan, to rail against oligarchs. No kidding. Talk about cognitive dissonance. Of course, they weren’t talking about democratic bundlers, or NGOs that are held up by the Open Society (aka Alexander Soros) Fund. And now that Bernie is technically a millionaire and AOC is well on her way, they seem to only be angry about billionaires. Then of course, there was the massive violent antisemitic incitement that also happened over the weekend there. But hey, whose really watching the kids anyway. Actually nobody, except on the Sunday talk shows.

Yeah, that’s right, apparently the only people who know anything anymore is some 24 year old who thinks he is smarter than everyone else. (Granted the kid survived a terrible ordeal, but it doesn’t make him Jesus) OK, every 24 year old thinks they’re smarter than everyone else, but at least in my day adults in the room pushed back. They didn’t hold us newly minted adults up as the new messiahs. In reality, we got told off and put in our place. Not today. Today everyone tells the children yes you are the future and you are the way. (I had to turn the show off it was so pathetic).

Screaming, carrying on, and a Maryland senator who made a fool of himself. Did he not even think this through? First of all, the deportee in question, while SCOTUS did say he needs to be brought back to the US, is still under orders of possible deportation. Now the person in question, it is being shown (well maybe, possible, ok) is a member of MS13, no matter what his family says (questionable what the family would say under threat from MS13), but he is definitely a wife beater. And even if he wasn’t (isn’t) a gang member, he thinks its ok to smack around women. So this Senator went on national news saying he was defending the Constitution. Skirting the issue of gangs, domestic violence, and human trafficking. He could have done this without spending our tax dollars on a trip to El Salvador, too. And yeah, he got had by the Bukele. That’s because this particular senator is a dumbass. Oh and he’s also a virulent antisemite, that supports slaughtering Jewish babies. (He voted against arms sales to Israel, condemns Israel’s fight against Hamas, and supports a Free Palestine. Tells you all you need to know about the people of Maryland who voted for this maven).

More screaming and shouting from Ivy League colleges because they can’t abuse Jewish students. Hmm. There are now rules and regulations that they need to follow in order to receive government funding. Oh the ACLU and FIRE are screaming their heads off. How dare the federal government makes rules for giving out taxpayer money. I didn’t hear the ACLU scream when due process was ignored under Obama when laying out the rules to follow when a student was accused of sexual assault. They applauded. At least FIRE, is consistent. A little too far libertarian though (well alot too far in my book). And talking about setting rules in order to receive federal tax dollars, the Department of Education said to states if you want tax dollars then you have to implement Common Core. Of course they did, and now our children can’t read or write. Tell me again how this agency is important. (yes other departments can handle civil rights complaints and student grants/loans- there is the department of the treasury and the DOJ).

25 hours talking. Wow Joe Rogan has nothing on this Senator. By the way, I actually like this senator. I think he is a really intelligent person, unlike Rogan who is a moron (and before you say how smart Rogan is, the only smart thing he did was hire agents and lawyers who could negotiate contracts. He didn’t do a damn thing except bring on virulent antisemites and people dumber than him who think Hitler was the good guy in WW2). But what the Senator did was performative. When your actions are compared to a white supremacist senator, who talked against the civil rights act, you either have very bad press, or people need to find something else to do with their time. This was the outrage against the actions of Trump…seriously? That was what he said. Ok. Not sure how this is going to do anything to fight what you find wrongheaded, but if it makes him and his party feel better about their ineptitude then go ahead.

And talking about talking…Back to Bernie and AOC and their anti-oligarchs tour. Nate Silver said she is going to be the democratic nominee for president. Again she is 35 and stupid. Well, not too stupid to know how to market herself, but stupid when it comes to issues and concerns. And yeah she is also an antisemite. Still part of the Squad. Also, can you see Xi or Putin or the Mullahs being afraid of AOC? Ok, she would let the mullahs have a bomb to try to destroy Israel, so she wouldn’t have to worry about them. But really? And the leaders of the democratic party think this is a good idea and the way to go kissing up to this idiot who spends her time on twitch playing games with a virulent antisemite. Have they completely lost their minds? Has the fact that Trump was reelected overwhelmingly made their minds go totally to mush?

Or is it the reality that as of today there is no one in the democratic party who could actually defeat Trump or a Trump acolyte, no matter how much the news media touts some new poll saying people are unhappy with how things are gong in the country. Didn’t these polls say that Kamala could also win and instead she got resoundingly defeated?

Listen here is the reality and how to deal with things. I understand that in order to make themselves relevant the news media needs to gin things up. I understand for congresspeople in order to stay relevant need to do ridiculous things sometimes. I understand that children need to go to concerts, but priorities please. I wonder how many at Coachella who put their tickets on payments actually have heath insurance.

I understand that there are people out there whose job it is to protect civli liberties. These people I don’t mind at all. Protecting the Bill of Rights is an essential duty. It is something we can all get behind. However, when they do it by picking and choosing whether to fight the good fight depending on who is POTUS, well thats simply hypocritical. I have no patience for that.

And saying a law that is over 220 years old is ridiculous is the same as saying the Constitution which was signed in 1789 is ridiculous. Of course the Constitution can be amended, thankfully, so there is that. As society changes so do our perceptions and how we view right from wrong. But you know what, a law can be held to be unconstitutional or the application of the law can be held to be unconstitutional. But until that time, it is the law of the land.

And yes I know, everything the Nazis did was legal under German law. (I know that seems to be the go to right now in response to figuring out the Constitutionality of what Trump is doing). But what everyone forgets is that on the left they like that the Nazis want to kill Jews with impunity (Ok they call us Zionist instead as if that gives them some kind of moral pass and of course they believe in antisemitic conspiracy theories), and on the right they think the Nazis did a good job in killing Jews (their moral pass is they live off of antisemitic conspiracy theories) or actually not enough Jews were killed because they say the Holocaust is a myth even though they want to perpetrate another Holocaust. Anyway, personally I am waiting to see how everything washes out. SCOTUS will eventually decide the constitutionality of everything Trump is doing. The people will decide who sits in Congress (just a word to the dems, get rid of the 24 year old. Most adults don’t like being lectured to by a child who has never actually done anything in their life yet. And get rid of AOC and Bernie too. Remember, people, like the UK Supreme Court, can define what a woman is even if one of the liberal justices on SCOTUS cannot). And my eggs are going to cost what they cost. (This past Easter instead of offering a free ham or turkey, my local grocery store offered a free dozen eggs with the purchase of over $400 worth of food.)

Of course, we are holding our breath waiting for the recession (not doing needed projects to the house), and friends are buying that new iPhone because tariffs….oh don’t get me started.

But what can I do personally about any of this? Give some money? Give some time? Right now it simply comes down to taking some melatonin to get some sleep. (for some there are some stronger meds, I recommend them highly). Beyond that, and the ability to vote, there is nothing else you can do.

But whatever you do stop carrying on that we are on the verge of a tyranny. That we are on the verge of an authoritarian regime. It gets boring. It gets tiring. And like chicken little, it gets you nowhere. I also think the catastrophizers need a new hobby. Yes, there is the midterms to come. But if all you do is talk to people like they are stupid, then they will vote for the other guy. Didn’t you learn that in 2024?
