Questions
Before chiming in about the US-Iran war, can you answer these questions...
Everyone is entitled to an opinion. No matter how stupid. The problem that we have in our world is that people watch a 30 second TikTok video and think they know everything about a conflict. Before you decide to make a decision about the present US-Iran War ask yourself the following questions, and if you cant answer them try reading some of the experts I list at the end of the article.
Warning-Avoid Wikipedia at all costs. You will just walk away dummer than when you started reading that drivel. (Interestingly, when my sons were in high school, college and then graduate school, they were actually told if they use Wikipedia as a source for a paper, they will automatically fail. What happened?)
Expectations before chiming in about the Iran war:
1. Be able to locate Iran on a map, and explain its strategic location and its effect
2. Name the gulf states
3. Explain what is the Strait of Hormuz
4. Discuss the axis of evil- Iran-Russia-China and how they foment chaos around the world
5. Discuss the history of Iran using proxies to kill Americans, namely in Iraq
6. Discuss the decades of negotiations with Iran and how did that work out for the world?
7. Explain how it is not important that the Iranian IRGC gunned down over 30,000 of their own people because they want to be able to have a functioning economy
8. Explain how Iran uses its proxy Hezbollah to run drugs to the US through South and Latin America and how it is aligned with the drug cartels (you think fentanyl is just about china-learn something)
9. Explain the concept of Twelver Shia Islam that is the sect that is running Iran right now- how does their fundamentalism fuel how they run the country and approach the world- not to be confused with Shia Islam itself, Sunni Islam, and other branches of Islam. Then explain the differences in the different branches of Islam.
10. Explain when did the US give up its sovereign right of self defense to international organizations that gives a veto to the US’s enemies
11. Explain US constitutional law, even though you have never opened a law book, never went to law school, and never passed a bar exam, and let everyone know that even though acknowledged US Constitutional law experts are split on the law in this instance you know better. Oh and remember every administration since the War Powers Act was enacted has said it was unconstitutional both dem and rep.
Notice none of this has anything to do with Israel. This is all about the interests of the US.
Now that you have the basics down, discuss....
What followed in the thread is some rather nasty middle school like name calling, and apparently I am like “Hillary Clinton.” Now I do not necessarily consider that an insult, nor do I consider that a total compliment. However she is a very accomplished woman whether you like everything she did, stood for, or prevaricated about. I can think of worse people to be equated to and they happen to be all be defending the Ayatollahs, blaming Israel, or going off on a rant about Chabad. (the Woke Reich and the Red-Green Chicom/Soros funded orgs have lost their damn mind- and so have some US Congresspersons.)
Now there were some other rather interesting comments and I responded:
The point I was making. Americans who chime into a conflict and have opinions but are actually ignorant of the reality and of the real stakes. As the polling shows that the majority of Americans don’t support the war but no one ever asked them any of these questions I posed did they? The point is learn something about the region/conflict/history before thinking anything you say actually matters.
Well I am not sure that Americans would support a war against Mexico since this is exactly what is happening with the Mexican drug cartels. Other than closing our boarders and trying to deport criminal illegals, well the democrats dont like the deport criminals part do they? Americans are happy to sit on their hands.
And it has been Iran that is fomenting the war for 47 years. Attacking neighbors, and fomenting unrest in the region and around the world. Not the other way round. And by the way, the average Iranian does not seem to support the regime and is celebrating the US actions. So much for thinking the mullahs are the good guys.
********
I happen to agree with you. I don’t know anyone that is good of heart who likes war. But unfortunately, sometimes that is your only option when dealing with pure evil and honestly in the case of the Mullahs the world has been negotiating with them for 47 years as they created death, destruction and chaos not only in the Middle East but around the world.
Also if you think about it, the only people who seem to be against this war is the green -red alliance in the west. It seems the Iranian people want their freedom. Go figure. In order to verify their own political daydreams the watermelon brigade in the west would condemn the average Iranian to a theocratic totalitarian regime. That red triangle brigade didn’t exactly condemn the slaughter of over 30,000 protesters in Iran did they? Pscho-sociopaths doesn’t even begin to describe the red-greens..
I also do not want to see US boots on the ground. For no other reason that if the Iranians really want to be free, they have to free themselves once our air power has decimated the IRGC and the Mullah regime. BTW, I hear that the Kurds are going to start and invasion from Iraq. I just hope this time the world doesn’t betray them and gives them their own country finally.
That is the interesting thing isn’t it, that people want what the US has in the way of prosperity, but not all cultures can be turned into Jeffersonian democracies. The people on the ground need to find a way to create the country they want once they are free to do just that.
And honestly, yes the US has done some really bad things. But tell me which nation has not, but which nation actually takes account of their shortcomings and tries to do better like the US? That too is our strength, we are not afraid to look at ourselves in the mirror and promise to do better.

Meanwhile here is my go to list of people to listen to when it comes to conflict in the Middle East. Many of these individuals not only know what they are talking about but as real experts do, they bring in those that know more than even they do. Add to the list in the comments:
Hugh Hewitt (radio show host who has on a myriad of experts)
Dan Senor (Nadav Eyal and Amit Segal)
Federation for the Defense of Democracy
Other than the UN Secretary General, Putin, Xi, and North Korea does anyone know of any real world leader that is supporting the Mullahs? Birds of a feather.
Oh there are some that are spineless balless wonders like Starmer, heck even Macron decided to send in ships, and so did that useless leader of Spain (well sure after Trump said they would ban Spanish good from the US), but can anyone reasonably think of anyone supporting the Mullahs except Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar? Maybe the Hadid sisters. Mamdani. CAIR. You know the usual suspects.
May Hashem keep all those brave civilians fighting to Free Iran from the grip of evil safe.
May God Bless the US Armed Forces and the IDF.
Leave a comment but remember the rules. Anything nasty will be deleted.
