You speak eloquently and fiercely for many of us and hit so many bullseyes right on target! Thanks for giving language to those of us still learning this new vocabulary of hatred threatening us today.

In reading your post, I remembered a show on television that I had watched relatively shortly after 9/11. (I was 30 years old at the time.) The show featured an Islamist militant in an Israeli prison talking in a calm, manner-of-fact way about life as a shahid, or holy warrior - one either died or got caught. The way he spoke was chillingly rational. I would have actually been far more comfortable if he had shouted in an uncontrollable rage, but he didn’t.

Yes, they are very rational in what they think and what they do. And until people understand that we will never fight this danger properly.

And thank you for your support of my fledgling writing. I feel when we can name and articulate this we feel more empowered to change what so many, including Jews and Jewish leaders, refuse to acknowledge. You covered so many areas I rarely see mentioned and yet they’re issues that, until now, I felt alone wrestling with. Hope that makes sense. Your voice is appreciated.

It all makes sense. Writing is my way of creating community and not feeling so alone in what I feel, too.
