The Barbarians are Inside the Gate

After the pogrom...

How do you continue to live in a world where the most evil and vile acts of torture, rape, and murder are celebrated? Where do you put yourself? Whom do you turn to? Whom do you trust?

I have yet to figure out what has gone wrong in our society, that thousands think that it is ok to justify such slaughter. That their hearts are so blackened that they rejoice in the massacre of babies and children. I find it inconceivable that human beings carry within themselves so repugnant of a persona, and that these people walk amongst us as if they belong within our society.

There is something within our culture that is greatly amiss. Yes, I know the First Amendment protects hate speech (even if the democratic VP nominee doesn’t know this), but it does not protect persons from the consequences of that speech. Yet, what consequences are actually meted out? If groups march in support of designated terror organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah, why are the foundations that fund these groups not held to account? Why have these organizations at least not lost their charitable designation, and why haven’t those who approved these gifts been held to account for funding those that support terrorism? If not investigated by the antiterror legal apparatus of the US government, why do these people at the funding corporations even still have their jobs?

Moreover, why are we allowing foreign funding of these groups and organizations? Why are we allowing foreign countries, groups, political parties to have a say in our day to day world? Why are allowing those that hate us entrance into our world? America needs to remember that in the end October 7 really is not simply about Israel, the Jews, or in truth about the palestinians in Gaza either. Those supporting the barbarism of that day simply hate the US and the west. October 7 is simply their catalyst, their fuel to the fire to upend our way of life.

That is the ultimate question is it not? Supporting terrorists isn’t just by gun running or buying explosives. It is by funding the propaganda machinations on behalf of those who support genocide against both Israel and the US. Remember, these groups are calling for intifada and a worldwide revolution against western freedoms. And we have seen on October 7 how they plan to go about it.

Why do we allow the sociopaths and psychopaths to have sway over the political discourse? Why are there those in the political echelons that pander to these haters? Why do prominent politicians and their minions go hat in hand to the most vile of these haters, those who praised not only October 7, those who traffick in antisemitic blood libels, but those that also call for eradication of the USA? Why do we not demand that these Machiavellian malevolent politicians be shunned from the political stage? Why do people in the US still line up to vote for these pathetic Janus faced excuses for leaders? Why do we not call out the hypocrisy?

Tell me-How do you swear to defend and protect the US Constitution, when you beg those who wish to destroy the US Constitutional system for their vote?

We are beyond the point where the barbarians are at the gate. The point where we have amassed our resources and the will to stop them from destroying our civilization. We have allowed them entrance already and are actually providing them succor. We have forgotten who we are, and have allowed those that wish to destroy the USA to have a say in our future. We have allowed, and welcomed, the barbarians inside the gate.

We have forgotten that not every opinion is equal and that not every opinion should be respected. It is inane to think that a person who abhors modernity should have a say in the future of the world. It is inane to think that persons who support such evil as what happened on October 7, those that invert the truth and turn words upon themselves, should be given any place of respect within society.

Where are those who would condemn these barbarians? Where are those that condemn the evil that they represent? Where are those who demand that there be consequences for their actions and their beliefs in supporting vile hatreds? Where are those who would stand up for Western civilization?

Almost 100 years ago, fascist-barbarians held sway over the American landscape. We allowed them to direct our politics and to create dissension within our society. This allowed nazism to grow to a level that it cost 400, 000 American lives to eradicate. How many lives are we willing to expend in order to stop the new barbarians?Are we willing? Or is it easier to pretend that it has nothing to do with us? It seems that the US has become desolate and unsure of her own sense of worth. It seems that the US has become inured to the threat within her own walls and that we have lost our sense of purpose.

So what do we do? No we cannot stop the barbarians from showing us who they truly are. We cannot stop them from marching and chanting through our streets. But we can extract a price to pay for their evil beliefs. We can extract a price to pay for those who fund terror supporters. We can extract a price to pay for those that would overthrow our Constitution and way of life.

These individuals needs to be marginalized. They need to be kept at bay. They need to be refused a spot in our political discourse. They need to be called out for the evil that they represent and celebrate.

But they won’t be. Instead they are told that they have a “good point,” or that their discourse is welcome. Pundits demand that those who revel in the slaughter of Jewish babies, be given a seat at the table. Perhaps it is time that we acknowledge a simple truth. Our leaders, those who consider themselves our betters either because of the colleges they attended, or the income that they generate, have failed us.

These “elites” live in a bubble of manicured lawns, cocktail parties with designer clothes, expensive cars and homes, living behind gated high walls with guards, emboldened by the ability to do and say as they please without fear of not being able to buy food the next week to feed their families. Their narcissism, selfimportance and self aggrandizement attaches to the latest politically correct manifesto in order to absolve themselves of their own hubris. Their sneers and disrespect towards those they consider less-than is what in the end will be the downfall of us all. To feel better about their own selves, they have allowed the barbarians past the gate without consequence, without derision, without one moment of contemplation whether their actions have good or bad long term consequences for society.

We the people, give these self-appointed grandees too much power.

In order to survive a society needs to want to survive. In order to build a future of freedom, you need to want to stand up and be counted. In order to protect humanity and decency you need to not be afraid of the gaslighters and the depraved.

I do not have a answer to any of the questions I pose. But the one thing I do know is that whatever the answer happens to be, I know our children’s future depends on us getting it right.
