Well there was so much scar tissue already because that was the breast with the terrible infection from my first surgery 10 years ago and then from the surgery lat summer that he felt lipo was a better option because all more surgery would do is create more scar tissue and basically ruin what we we trying to accomplish by taking down the volume.
Leaking is still there but it is getting better. Slowly but surely.
To my lovely, very important writer, woman and person. Never, ever, ever get discouraged or fed up. You are not being personally attacked by the medical establishment nor insurance companies. They are all reasonably incompetent, while at the same time overworked and prone to making mistakes. You are not personally a target. You are lucky to be having only your structural integrity and body damage under repair now, rather than more important, internal organ structures such as transmission, engine, starter motor, valves, circulating motor fluids, tubes carrying various fluids that could be blocked or broken and most importantly, your computer system - the “brains” of your vehicular system.
Remain hopeful about the future. Once you and the hubby qualify for Medicare, your only problem will be getting Med. to approve diagnostic tests, drugs and treatments. Once it does, you won’t have to worry about bills. Make sure you get secondary insur. and a good drug plan.
Oh, remember, there are no people dealing with your current bills and payments (and in some cases, treatment). All is entered and processed by machines and computers.
I speak from experience. I am currently in remission from Multiple Myeloma (possibly “cured”) due to my participation in a clinical trial of CAR-T treatment nearly 6 years ago. I just had a bilateral hernia repair. The surgeon played computer games while a robot (I kid you not) performed the laparoscopic surgery via 3 small incisions in my abdomen. Stay strong. While you’re recuperating, please read my personal-historical inspirational, non-fiction book “Separated Together,” a bio I wrote of my in-laws who were separated 7 years (!!) during WWII. Thanks for the plug. (I got the galleys of my book when I got my correct Dx after 3 years of incorrect Dx. I had to re-read the galleys for errors. Reading my own words that I had written for everyone else, actually inspired me to do what I needed to do to stay alive, as I entered my CAR-T protocol.)

And you are completely correct. I do have that guardian angel protecting me that my cancer was not invasive and basically at a level they don’t even consider cancer but precancer.
The irony is that we do qualify for medicare, but his employer insurance is less of a cost for us because of the medicare income penalty. It really comes down to the billers and not really the insurance. When everything has been billed properly they paid. I have interacted with the hospital billing department and they sent emails explaining how and why the way things are billed and my husband included that in his informational packet to the hospital billers. Its just frustrating. And yes they can be overworked, but the $70,000 debt hangs over our head if they don’t do their job well.
What an absolute emotional roller-coaster, you poor woman. And, the billing on top of it all. Thank goodness you are healthy now. Best wishes going forward, and may you live a long healthy happy life.💕
I read this and was on the roller coaster ride with you. Every moment (although I have not had any reconstruction done) but the cancer, the tests, the Billings, the pain, the lopsided. All of it. And I see you. I see your actual strength in your words. Not complaining. Living it. And I say ok, I can live through it as well. ❤️
