When I go to write a comment your substack title looms and I automatically correct it: "An Important Woman" (Don't worry, I understand the irony, and your modesty, and sometimes I chuckle, but it doesn't hurt to let you know your writing is important to a lot of us ...)
That was a tour de force, EKB, fantastic article. I think the reason why Boy George was taken off Jesus Christ Superstar where he would have played Herod is 'for security reasons', because the baying brown shirts would be at the theatre door. Same reason why British venues won't host people like Douglas Murray, or the Israeli film festival etc.
Now ain't that the truth? Time to move from denunciation to action. Both Israel and diaspora Jews should make our enemies pay. No land for Palestinians. No votes for Democrats. No campus encampments for students. No mayor speeches go without being heckled and swarmed. Blacks burned the ghettos in the sixties, Minneapolis not too long ago. Jews can do better.
Honestly, I think all Jew carry some form of PTSD in their souls. The last few years has just brought it all to the forefront. Believe me when I say you are not the only one with these dreams. But the chair thing, rockers, lounge or desk? 😉 gotta keep a sense of humour, too

I have to share that one of my pieces gets an interesting rejection- "unfortunately, we cannot accept this piece for publication but not because of its quality, just to the contrary. Please consider submitting your other writing." You can guess what my rejected piece is about. And no, it is not about Israel. I will continue trying.
i sent my piece to the Jewish and non-Jewish magazines. Jewish told me to resend it closer to Yom HaShoa but my piece is less about the Holocaust and more about how we erase certain memories and forsake loyalty. Non-Jewish praised my writing but said, Despite it being beautifully written, this piece does not fit into the current issue.
We have returned to the days of “keep a bag packed”. Stay very alert. This sort of pressure cooker can go from under control to run for the hills in moments. Ceuta was peaceful and prosperous two days ago…
From what I understand the overwhelming majority of those immigrants who invaded Ceruta have been sent back to Morocco. The town is back to normal. Read Andrew Fox's latest essay he explains it all. But it is true, keep a bag packed. Honestly, it is why I have always kept our passports up to date.

Husband said the same about why he was taken off the show, too. For safety reasons.
I believe that the murderers who choked the Bibas babies with their bare hand weren’t members of Hamas but “innocent” Gazan civilians.
I think they were actually Palestinian Islamic jihad. Either way they are dead now .

Last night I dreamt that modern day nazis came for us. They drover up in large brown vans. At least there were seats. How crazy is that?

I'm so sorry. I don't know what to really make of what is going on. The Jewish leadership in this country is really out to lunch.
